Educator Open House for Chicago Theatrical Run

Prior to The Homestretch's second Chicago theatrical run, the Gene Siskel Film Center is hosting an Educator Open House and private screening of the film on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. This appreciation event is open to educators at all levels K-12 through university.

Educators who would like to attend this appreciation event should RSVP to Jason Hyde by email or by phone (312.846.2600). Tickets are $7 for educators with a school ID or paycheck stub.

The screening and reception will take place at the Gene Siskel Film Center, located at 164 N. State Street, Chicago, IL 60601

This event continues The Homestretch's work engaging the education community on the issue of youth homelessness. In August of 2014, 1200 representatives from CPS schools were shown an abridged version of the film that focused on issues that face homeless students. In March of 2015, the full film will be featured at the SXSWedu Conference, which "fosters innovation in learning."

Moving forward, schools and districts around the country will use The Homestretch to spark vital dialogue about youth homelessness. To bring the film to your community, email homestretch@kartemquin.com. For more updates, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
