Bertha BRITDOC Connect Fund Supports The Homestretch

We are proud to announce that The Homestretch was one of 8 documentaries to receive impact funding from the Bertha BRITDOC Connect Fund. This European based outreach and engagement fund supports “smart, strategic outreach campaigns for ambitious independent documentary films with a social issue at their core.”

This funding and acknowledgement comes at a pivotal time for The Homestretch, as we transition our focus toward ensuring the film’s impact. Mid-May we met with our outreach team and staff from Kartemquin Films to continue work on our campaign. Bertha BRITDOC Connect funding will ensure that we have the personnel and resources necessary to effect change for homeless youth, in Chicago and across the country.

In June, The Homestretch will show at two important festivals: AFI Docs in Washington DC and Human Rights Watch Film Festival in New York City. The former will bring us one step closer to influencing policy, the latter will put The Homestretch in front individuals fighting for human rights.

The Homestretch continues to spark an important dialogue about how society is addressing this complex problem. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more information about screenings and outreach.
